About the Wind.
Our school is located at Km. 35 of the Progreso-Telchac highway in Yucatan, Mexico. 50 minutes from the city of Mérida and 1:15 from the city's international airport.
San Bruno and the Yucatecan coast are a paradise for kiteboarding, due to its strong warm winds generated by the thermal effect between the months of November and August that range from 12 knts to 30 knts, as well as shallow water conditions, side on shore winds, uncrowded beaches. Ideal for downwinders and kite beginners. The wind generally starts to blow around 12:00pm and gradually increases during the afternoon until after sunset.
The wind season covers the whole year. The strongest winds are from February to May.
The nortes season starts in November and ends in February.
The thermal winds begin in March and end in August. Thermal winds or breezes usually start after 11 AM and end when the sun goes down.
